English Teacher

Job Summary:
The English Teacher is responsible for teaching language and literature to Grades 9 and 10 following the Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) curriculum, with a focus on developing reading, writing, speaking, and critical analysis skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver English lessons in accordance with AKU-EB syllabus.
• Teach grammar, composition, comprehension, and literature effectively.
• Develop students’ writing skills including essays, letters, and creative writing.
• Enhance reading and analytical skills through prose, poetry, and drama.
• Conduct regular assessments, quizzes, and examinations.
• Provide constructive feedback to improve student performance.
• Prepare students for board exams with proper exam techniques and practice.
• Encourage class participation, discussions, and presentations.
• Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment.
• Keep records of student performance and communicate progress with management/parents.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English or a related field.
• B.Ed./M.Ed. is preferred.
• Experience teaching Grades 9 & 10.
• Familiarity with AKU-EB curriculum preferred.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
• Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills.
