Job Summary:
The English Teacher is responsible for teaching language and literature to Grades 9 and 10 following the Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) curriculum, with a focus on developing reading, writing, speaking, and critical analysis skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver English lessons in accordance with AKU-EB syllabus.
- Teach grammar, composition, comprehension, and literature effectively.
- Develop students’ writing skills including essays, letters, and creative writing.
- Enhance reading and analytical skills through prose, poetry, and drama.
- Conduct regular assessments, quizzes, and examinations.
- Provide constructive feedback to improve student performance.
- Prepare students for board exams with proper exam techniques and practice.
- Encourage class participation, discussions, and presentations.
- Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment.
- Keep records of student performance and communicate progress with management/parents.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English or a related field.
- B.Ed./M.Ed. is preferred.
- Experience teaching Grades 9 & 10.
- Familiarity with AKU-EB curriculum preferred.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills.
