• Location: Naperville, Illinois – near AMC Naperville 16, ZIP 60564

• Preferred start date: ASAP

• Lesson format: Face-to-face, in-person

Details

• Availability: Weekdays after 4:30 pm

• Lesson Frequency: 2 or 3 times per week

• Lesson Duration: 1 hour each

• Current level: Novice High

• Native/other languages: Portuguese (native), Spanish

• Goals:

  • Develop daily communication skills in English

  • Support cultural adaptation and social integration

  • Strengthen listening and speaking confidence

  • Expand vocabulary for school and everyday interactions

  • Build pronunciation and comprehension skills through engaging activities

  • Gain fluency and confidence interacting with peers in an English-speaking environment

Responsibilities

• Create interactive, child-centered lessons with a focus on communication and vocabulary

• Incorporate games, stories, and real-life situations to make learning enjoyable

• Support the student’s adaptation to the local school environment

• Focus on pronunciation, listening, and speaking activities

• Reinforce confidence and fluency through practical conversation and repetition

• Adapt lessons for a child who prefers face-to-face over virtual learning

Qualifications

• Native or near-native proficiency in English

• Certificate or degree in language teaching, linguistics, education, or related field

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching English to children

• Experience helping young learners adapt culturally and socially in new environments

• Ability to create engaging, motivating, and age-appropriate lessons
