A TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) English Teacher plans and delivers engaging lessons for middle/secondary students (Classes 6-10) on English grammar, literature, reading, writing, and speaking, fostering a positive environment, assessing progress, managing classrooms, communicating with parents, and participating in school activities, focusing on curriculum standards and skill development. Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning & Delivery: Develop and execute daily/weekly lesson plans covering language, literature, comprehension, and composition, using diverse teaching methods.
- Student Assessment: Evaluate student work, provide constructive feedback, grade assignments/exams, and track progress.
- Skill Development: Improve students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through activities, discussions, and targeted sessions.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a lively, positive, and inclusive atmosphere, managing behavior and resolving conflicts.
- Parent & Colleague Collaboration: Communicate with parents about student performance and work with other staff for cohesive learning.
- Extracurriculars: Organize and participate in school events, debates, and literary competitions.
- Professional Growth: Stay updated on teaching trends, attend workshops, and engage in professional development.
Core Duties:
- Teach English language structure, grammar, spelling, and pronunciation.
- Explain literary genres (fiction, poetry, etc.) and critical analysis.
- Prepare and use teaching materials, including digital tools.
- Mentor students and provide remedial help when needed.
Typical Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in English/Arts/Literature.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree.
- Fluency in English and computer proficiency.
