English Tutor

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Tutor to support Middle and High School students. The ideal candidate will have experience in literacy education, lesson planning, and classroom management, with the ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning needs.

Duties

• Develop and implement engaging curriculum tailored to students’ age and skill levels
• Utilize learning technology and educational resources to enhance lesson delivery
• Conduct tutoring sessions focused on reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills
• Manage classroom activities effectively to create a positive learning environment
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust lesson plans accordingly
• Incorporate literacy education strategies to improve foundational language skills
• Support students with special educational needs or those requiring additional childcare support
• Maintain detailed records of student performance and provide feedback to parents or guardians as needed
• Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages student participation and confidence

Skills

• Strong background in curriculum development and lesson planning
• Proficiency in teaching English
• Experience with classroom management and creating engaging learning environments
• Familiarity with learning technology tools and digital educational platforms
• Prior tutoring or classroom experience with children
• Knowledge of special education practices and literacy education techniques
• Excellent writing skills for creating instructional materials and assessments
• Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and learning needs
• Passion for education, patience, and strong communication skills

Additional Information

• Prior experience with 6-12 English required
• Preferred availability: 3:30–8:00 PM (4–10 hours/week)
• 1099 Independent Contractor (LLC encouraged, not required)
• Background check required if not currently licensed
