We are currently seeking a passionate and certified English teacher to join our team and support high school students preparing for the SAT.

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and certified English tutor to assist high school students in improving their SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing scores. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about education, dedicated to student success, and able to create engaging, personalized lesson plans that incorporate proven SAT strategies and test-taking techniques. This position involves in-person tutoring sessions at our South Plainfield location.

Responsibilities:

• Provide in-person English tutoring sessions for SAT-bound high school students
• Develop and implement personalized lesson plans tailored to individual student learning objectives and SAT score goals
• Teach SAT-specific strategies for the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing sections
• Assess student progress through practice tests and diagnostic assessments, adjusting teaching methods accordingly
• Track and report student progress using standardized metrics and score improvements
• Stay current with SAT format changes and College Board updates
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance and progress
• Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment conducive to academic growth and test confidence

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or related field
• Valid teaching certification
• Prior experience teaching English/language arts and SAT preparation to high school students preferred
• Strong knowledge of SAT test format, content, and scoring
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in-person according to the provided schedule
• Experience with standardized test preparation is highly desirable

Schedule:

• Part-time position with flexible hours
• Availability for evening and weekend sessions preferred
• Specific schedule to be determined based on student needs and tutor availability
