What You'll Do

  • Operational Leadership & Lifecycle Management:
    • Manage the full application lifecycle, including operations, maintenance, and support for assigned enterprise applications.
    • Provide operational oversight to ensure team objectives are met and services remain stable and efficient.
    • Execute operational plans derived from the broader IT strategy, focusing on tactical execution.
    • Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the application support team.
  • Project & Demand Management:

    • Identify, resource, and lead key application projects, ensuring they are delivered effectively.
    • Facilitate team problem-solving to address operational and team-related challenges.
    • Collaborate with business users and analysts to capture and prioritize application requirements and needs.
  • Risk, Compliance & Technical Governance:

    • Ensure assigned applications comply with all enterprise security and regulatory policies.
    • Maintain a strong understanding of the functional and technical architecture of managed applications to provide expert guidance.
    • Manage risk by identifying potential application failures and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Financial & Vendor Management:

    • Define and manage the operational budget for assigned applications, including tracking spending.
    • Manage operational vendor relationships and ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met for specific applications.
    • Work across teams on larger vendor management initiatives and software selections.
  • Team Leadership & Stakeholder Influence:

    • Manage, coach, and develop team members, including managing performance plans and talent development.
    • Provide guidance to support staff and project team members to build organizational capability.
    • Manage relevant stakeholder relationships, acting as a liaison between technical teams and business units.
  • Communicate the value and status of application initiatives to stakeholders effectively.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, OR equivalent work experience is important.
      • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in IT, with a focus on application management or support.
      • Proven track record of managing complex application lifecycles and operational vendor relationships26.
      • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role, managing team performance and development.
      • Demonstrated experience in project management and budget oversight for functional areas.
      • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of enterprise application functionality and technical architecture.
      • Operational Excellence: Focus on stability, efficiency, and compliance within the application landscape.
      • Business Acumen: Understanding of business drivers to align application functions with organizational needs.
      • Relationship Management: Ability to collaborate effectively with business users and manage vendor SLAs.
