Summary
This position is responsible for the development, implementation, enhancement, growth, and support of the banks business intelligence systems and data services. This individual will ensure data quality, reliability, and accessibility for various data-driven purposes, such as analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence. This position will collaborate with different departments to meet data integration, reporting, and dashboard needs, and support existing data infrastructure.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Key Responsibilities
- Build and test data pipelines and data warehouse solutions
- Deploy and manage data solutions on on-premises and cloud platforms
- Collaborate with stakeholders from different teams to understand their data needs and provide technical support
- Implement best practices and standards for data governance, security, and privacy
- Troubleshoot and optimize data performance and scalability issues
- Work on large data/analytics projects that gather and analyze large volumes of data
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets, and provide answers to business questions
- Collaborate with partners to provide a clear explanation and holistic view of the data, using visualization and reporting tools
- Streamline and automate processes to ensure data lineage, consistency, integrity, and transparency
- Perform operational support and mentor potential end users
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the data engineering field
- Handle multiple data and reporting projects, and deliver solutions that support the data and governance process
- Act as a primary administrator and architect of data warehousing efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Required Skills & Education
Requirements
- Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, and presentation skills
- Effective time management; highly organized and detail-oriented
- Experience gathering requirements and working with internal stakeholders on reporting solutions
- Proven experience extracting, organizing, and analyzing complex data sets
- Hands-on experience with data modeling, data quality, and data governance practices
- Experience with data integration tools (e.g., SQL, Informatica, Azure Data Factory, SSIS)
- Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau)
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, and enterprise reporting
- Knowledge of banking concepts and financial services operations
- Experience with Fiserv banking applications
- Flexibility to support special projects, including occasional nights or weekends
