2. JOB PURPOSE

Identification and management of risks associated with the entire company. Development and implementation of a comprehensive and effective risk management framework that meets established internal standards, aligns with industry best practice and Emkan’s risk profile. Supports ERM strategy implementation through development of policy, statistical models, monitoring and forecasting credit portfolio risk.


3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Functional Accountabilities (Job Specific)

Policy Management

  • Develop ERM policies & framework for the company which includes but not limited to Risk Appetite, Market, Liquidity risk, Term cost risk related policies.
  • Work closely with product development, IT and sales teams to review new products, methodologies, channels, and strategies to meet customer needs, maximize profitability, and minimize enterprise risk
  • Review lending programs & processes on regular basis to ensure they are updated and in line with market’s best practices.

Model Management

  • Must be familiar with Scorecards development and monitoring techniques including Application & Behavioural scorecards.
  • Fully aware of Models’ validations and calibration techniques
  • Have full knowledge of IFRS9 modelling techniques and implementation strategies.

Risk Appetite

  • Develop Risk Appetite Statement, where the parameters for thresholds or tolerances shall be incorporated to articulate the Company’s Risk Appetite.
  • Able to establish a clear relationship between the Company’s risk appetite and its objectives derived from the business strategy, as well as the Risk Strategy of the Company.

Regulatory environment awareness

Must be familiar with SAMA regulations especially rules pertaining to ERM.

  • Thorough working knowledge of the Risk systems monitoring and its related procedures for analyzing the account behaviour of clients, identifying trends and shifts in risk profiles.
  • Thorough understanding of lending products and facilities that give rise to counter party risk.
  • Has knowledge of Regulatory requirements in the area of ERM
  • Capable of implementing best approaches for Risk Management i.e., Risk Identification, Risk Assessment, Risk Response, Risk Monitoring and Risk Reporting.

Portfolio Management

  • Perform portfolio analysis from ERM aspects
  • Review any portfolio related report upon the top management request to have an idea on the portfolio performance.
  • Arrange and develop the Monthly Progress Report (MPR) data as well as the Power Point slides and share it with Group Risk department on a monthly basis.

Financials

  • Coordinate with the Finance department for the ERM related requirements.
  • Review SAMA reports and related material.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure the development of monthly MIS and management reporting
  • Review and ensure the submission of monthly/quarterly SAMA ERM report, if any.

Technology

  • Attending the vendors meetings for the new system to assure the implementation accuracy and all risk comments are being covered appropriately.

People Management

  • Maintain staff efficient productivity.
  • Make sure staff get their training courses annually.



4. Qualifications and experience

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor's degree from a reputed university. Qualification from a specialized institution will be considered as an additional asset.

Experience

Minimum 10 years with 5+ years of relevant work experience.

Knowledge and Skills

Understanding of lending strategies and business models, especially Personal finance, Auto lease, Credit Cards and SME.

Knowledge of credit assessment, credit policy, underwriting, risk management, liquidity risk, Market risk and portfolio management tools and processes including ECL, scoring models and profitability models

Experience in focus on quality growth and member service while maintaining an appropriate risk/return balance

Exhibits excellent analytical, multi-tasking, and time management skills.

Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals

Ability to professionally handle confidential matters.

High degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work under minimal supervision
