Entomologist Supervisor

JOB PURPOSE:

The Entomologist provides expert technical knowledge on insect biology, behaviour, and control methods to support pest management operations. The role ensures pest control strategies are scientifically sound, effective, and compliant with UAE regulations, municipality requirements, and approved pest management practices.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Pest Identification & Technical Expertise

• Identify insect species, infestation patterns, and life cycles relevant to pest control operations.
• Analyse infestation trends and recommend appropriate control and prevention methods.
• Support accurate diagnosis of pest-related issues across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

Treatment Strategy & Effectiveness

• Recommend scientifically approved treatment plans based on pest behaviour and environmental conditions.
• Support optimisation of treatment methods to improve effectiveness and reduce recurrence.
• Ensure integrated pest management (IPM) principles are applied where applicable.

Regulatory & Municipality Compliance

• Ensure pest control practices comply with UAE municipality regulations, MOCCAE requirements, and approved pest control guidelines.
• Support regulatory inspections, audits, and technical approvals.
• Ensure treatments align with approved chemical usage and application methods.

Chemical & Product Evaluation

• Review and evaluate pesticides, insecticides, and treatment products from an entomological perspective.
• Support validation of chemical selection, dosage, and application techniques.
• Coordinate with Technical, Quality, and HSE teams on chemical compliance and safety.

Technical SOPs & Documentation

• Support development and review of pest control SOPs, treatment protocols, and method statements.
• Maintain technical documentation, reports, and records related to pest analysis and control measures.
• Provide technical input for tenders, proposals, and contract requirements.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:

• Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Entomology , Biology , Zoology , or a related life science discipline. MOCCAE approval / eligibility for pest control technical roles (mandatory). Municipality-recognised Pest Control Certification and Knowledge of WHO pesticide classification and safe usage standards. Training or certification in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is preferred.

• Minimum Experience: 3–6 years of experience in pest control, environmental services, public health, or municipality-regulated pest management environments. Proven experience working within UAE pest control regulations is strongly preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

• Job Specific: Strong knowledge of insect taxonomy, biology, and behaviour. Understanding of pesticide action, resistance management, and application techniques. Ability to assess treatment effectiveness and recommend improvements.
