Entry Level ($16/hr) - Transportation Coordinator (Mon-Fri: 11am-7pm)

About We Care of Central Florida

We Care of Central Florida (WCCF) is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing health equity by providing free specialty healthcare, diagnostic services, vision care, breast health services, laboratory access, and durable medical equipment to uninsured adults in Polk County living at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

In addition to these vital services, WCCF operates Project Ride to Health (PRTH)—a no-cost transportation initiative powered by Uber Health that offers eligible residents rides to and from healthcare appointments across Polk County. In 2025 alone, PRTH coordinated over 18,000 one-way trips, and demand continues to grow.

Position Overview

The Entry-Level Transportation Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of PRTH. This position is responsible for coordinating patient transportation, managing communication across multiple platforms, and maintaining accurate documentation and reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

Transportation Coordination – Project Ride to Health

· Manage incoming calls, texts, and voicemails from the PRTH line

· Schedule transportation for clients via Uber Health or Lyft platforms

· Monitor and respond to program-related emails

· Accurately document ride details in FamCare and shared Excel reports

· Upload and maintain records in the Shared Drive

· Generate and complete reports for internal and grant-related purposes

Community Engagement & Support

  • Assist with special events, outreach activities, and fundraisers
  • Support organizational projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Greet and assist patients and visitors as needed

Administrative & Cross-Team Support

  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments
  • Other duties as assigned by the CEO/Operations Director

Qualifications

An ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, culturally competent, and highly organized. They will be comfortable working in a dynamic nonprofit environment and committed to ensuring transportation barriers do not prevent access to care.

  • Experience with community resources or social services
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
  • Professional demeanor with sound judgment and emotional maturity
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Discretion and sensitivity when handling confidential patient information
  • Strong problem-solving skills and solution-oriented mindset

Technical Requirements

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

· Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat

· Proficiency with data entry and cloud-based file systems

Additional Information

  • Must be willing to work Monday thru Friday: 11am to 7pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.50 - $16.00 per hour
