Entry Level Biotech Associate

Description:

• A candidate for this role will support the a CRO working in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device fields

NOTE: Position is expected to last 3 months

NOTE: Position is in Hercules, CA

Compensation:$30.00 - 35.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Perform Intraperitoneal (IP) injection in rats and mice
• Ensure accurate dosing and proper restraint of animals to minimize stress and injury
• Monitor and record morbidity and mortality of laboratory animals (rats/mice)
• Document appropriate study records.
• Accurately document observations
• Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of GMP's/GLP's as these pertain to work performed in the microbiology lab
• Perform repetitive and technically meticulous small laboratory animal (mice/ rat) research work (training will be provided).

Requirements:

• Minimum requirement: BS degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Toxicology, Pharmacology, or a related degree
• Able to handle multiple projects concurrently, self-motivated, and results driven
• Proficiency in Office 365 and other software preferred
• Able to communicate effectively
• Willingness to work with potentially hazardous biological and chemical substances.
• Must be able to work in close proximity to laboratory animals (including mice, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs). Must be tolerant of animal odors.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds and stand for extensive periods of time (up to 6 hours)
• Utilize ergonomics to perform repetitive motion tasks with hands and arms
