Entry Level Controls Engineer - Manufacturing Company (AT)

A machine tooling manufacturer located in Troy, OH is looking for an entry level Electrical Engineer join their team. They currently supply their machines to various companies within the Automotive Industry. This is a full-time/permanent position.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in designing and developing PLC-based software programs specific to project requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Design and improve the HMI of the robot to enhance functionality and user-friendliness
• Debug and commission control systems at our facility, during the system integration stage, and then at the customer’s site during installation
• Travel as required to customer and supplier sites to perform installation, commissioning, and training duties
• Select, test, and integrate hardware and software components such as robots, analog devices, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems, and lasers
• Work with other members of the control systems team and other groups to continuously improve methods of integrating controls technology
• Provide remote support for robot installation and work with the installation manager to ensure complete commissioning of the robot in the field.
• Provide service and customer support during field visits as required.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 1 year’s experience with PLC programming
• Familiarity with motion control and robotics applications
• Experience in hands-on wiring of electrical panels
• Familiarity with power distribution circuits, cable, and fuse selection, etc.
• Familiarity with DC circuit design and wiring
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Experience with troubleshooting and point-to-point testing electrical systems
