ENTRY-LEVEL DESIGNER

ENTRY LEVEL DESIGNER - Moreno Cardenas Inc. (MCi) Consulting Engineers – Las Cruces is currently recruiting for a full-time entry-level designer position. Under the general supervision of the Supervisor – Distribution Design, responsible for the design and coordination of the construction of electrical distribution facilities. This includes designing and coordinating the construction of Company-driven Service Betterment jobs to maintain and improve the distribution system.

What You'll Do:

• Perform calculations to develop line protection settings.
• Responsible for the preparation of Engineering designs, and implementation to the field.
• Responsible for the compliance of all the assigned projects, with both engineering and field work.
• Assist engineering team with field work as required by project.
• Coordinate the construction of line extensions with various entities.
• Perform other related tasks that are not included but are within the context of the duties defined.

What You Bring:

· Associate’s degree, technical certificate, or relevant experience in electrical, utility, construction, drafting, or similar fields. Candidates without a formal engineering degree but with strong technical aptitude, field experience, or CAD/design exposure are encouraged to apply.

• Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate with or without reasonable accommodation that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
• A strong desire to work in the electrical engineering consulting field.
• Basic knowledge of the principles of electricity, computer aided drafting techniques, knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel, Word, and knowledge in general electrical engineering software.
• Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code, National Electrical Code
• Knowledge of fundamentals of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, electrical engineering design and techniques, electrical construction methods and specifications, project estimating and scheduling, and applicable standards (preferred but not required).
• Adapt and ability to learn quickly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
