Environment Specialist

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field,
• 5+ years experience in projects financed by international financial institutions, actively participating in E&S processes and lender compliance
• Deep knowledge of national environmental legislation and regulatory requirements including environmental permitting, waste management, etc.
• Experience in greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, emission management, and decarbonization initiatives
• Knowledge of biodiversity management and environmental impact considerations within infrastructure or energy projects
• Familiarity with international sustainability frameworks and disclosure standards
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and 50001 will be an asset
• Ability to work multi-stakeholder environments, coordinating internal and external partners
• Fluent English in both spoken and written
• Having valid driver’s licence and actively driving
• No restriction for travel

We are looking for a teammate who will be able to conduct ;

• Day-to-day compliance with lender, shareholder, and investor environmental requirements, including Equator Principles, IFC/World Bank Performance Standards, EBRD Performance Requirements, and GRI ESG Standards
• Greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, emission calculations, and decarbonization planning, including developing and monitoring emission reduction initiatives
• Implementing and monitor sustainability and disclosure activities, such as CDP reporting, ensuring alignment with corporate targets
• Assessing and manage biodiversity and environmental impacts related to infrastructure and electricity distribution projects
• Internal audits to monitor conformity with all compliance requirements, ensuring full compliance with Turkish Environmental Law and applicable regulations
• Performing environmental impact assessments of electricity distribution activities based on life cycle assessment (LCA) approach
• Coordinating and participating E&S Due Diligence of Lenders, developing Environmental Action/Management Plans
• Coordinating and implement ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System and ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System activities in electricity distribution operations
• Implementing and monitoring E&S management plans and procedures
• Preparing and submit regular monitoring reports for lenders, internal departments, and other relevant stakeholders
• Working collabaratively with all other related departments such as Finance, Investor Relations, OHS, Engineering and operational teams for above-m entioned duties
