The EHS Supervisor will lead the development and enforcement of all safety, health, and environmental programs to ensure 100% compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role is critical in managing the safety of both internal production lines and ongoing external construction projects. The Supervisor will act as a subject matter expert in OSHA standards, ensuring site readiness for ISO audits and fostering a proactive safety culture across the warehouse and manufacturing floors.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and enforce health, safety, and environmental programs complying with OSHA, EPA, and ISO 9001/45001 standards.
· Conduct advanced hazard assessments and safety audits, specifically focusing on the interface between production areas and active construction zones.
· Manage incident investigations using root cause analysis (RCA) and ensure all corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented and documented.
· Oversee the Hazard Communication program, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS) management and chemical safety protocols.
· Develop and deliver specialized safety training, including forklift certification, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), fall protection, and emergency response.
· Monitor hazardous waste management and environmental compliance in accordance with EPA and local regulations.
· Ensure all fire protection systems, emergency exits, and first-aid stations are inspected and fully compliant.
· Lead the Safety Committee and conduct high-level safety meetings and toolbox talks for both employees and subcontractors.
· Partner with HR to manage Workers’ Compensation claims and ensure compliance with ADA and EEOC during return-to-work processes.
· Ensure 100% site readiness for external audits from OSHA, EPA, Fire Marshal, and ISO certification bodies.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, or a related technical field (Required).
Experience:
3-5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial settings, with at least 2 years in a dedicated supervisory or leadership role.
Required Certifications (Mandatory):
OSHA 30-Hour Certification (General Industry or Construction).
At least one of the following: OSHA 511 (General Industry Standards) OR OSHA 510 (Construction Industry Standards).
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
Knowledge and Skills
Expert knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry) and 1926 (Construction).
Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 management systems.
Proven ability to manage subcontractors and high-risk work permits (Hot Work, Fall Protection).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power BI, and EHS management software.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred to effectively manage a diverse workforce.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to conduct extensive site patrols, including climbing stairs/ladders and walking through construction zones.
Must be able to respond immediately to workplace emergencies.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally for training or inspection purposes.
