Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified Environmental Inspector to join our team for a 36-month project. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with environmental regulations, standards, and best practices throughout construction and healthcare projects in Qatar. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and hands-on experience in environmental inspection and advisory services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive site inspections to assess compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, air quality, water conservation, and hazardous material handling.
- Review project documentation, designs, and permits to identify potential environmental risks and ensure alignment with Qatari and international standards.
- Monitor and audit construction and healthcare facilities to evaluate adherence to environmental policies, health and safety protocols, and sustainability guidelines.
- Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to address non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, findings, and recommendations for project teams and regulatory authorities.
- Advise on environmental best practices, including pollution prevention, resource efficiency, and waste reduction strategies.
- Participate in environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and sustainability planning for new projects.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and provide training or guidance to project teams as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Engineering or a related field.
- Certification: Grad B certification under the UPDA (Qatar Civil Defence) Personnel Development Program.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a similar environmental inspection or consultancy role.
- Experience in the construction industry, preferably in consultancy or project management roles.
- Prior experience in hospital projects in Qatar is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Qatari environmental regulations, ISO 14001 standards, and health/safety compliance.
- Proficiency in using environmental monitoring tools, data collection software, and reporting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess risks and propose solutions.
Preferred Attributes
- Familiarity with the Qatari healthcare sector and its specific environmental compliance requirements.
- Experience working with international construction consultancy firms or on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural teams and adapt to dynamic project timelines.
Additional Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and presenting technical findings.
- Flexibility to travel to project sites within Qatar and work under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and resolving compliance issues.
Note: This position is for a 36-month project based in Qatar. Selected applicants will be required to provide verification of their UPDA Grad B certification and employment history.
