POSITION SUMMARY:
LRD is seeking a high-performing Environmental Professional to join our Environmental team. This role is responsible for driving regulatory excellence and advancing environmental performance across refinery operations. The position may be aligned with Air and/or Waste regulatory programs based on candidate experience and business needs.
This individual will serve as a key advisor to site leadership and operational teams, ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting operational reliability and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, business acumen, and strong cross-functional influence to deliver measurable results in a dynamic operating environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Regulatory Strategy and Compliance:

Lead and support programs to achieve and sustain full compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

Translate regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance for site teams and leadership.

Oversee timely and accurate regulatory reporting, documentation control, and agency interface.

Identify compliance risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.

Performance Analytics and Continuous Improvement:

Analyze environmental performance data to identify trends, systemic risks, and improvement opportunities.

Develop reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.

Drive process and system enhancements that improve compliance reliability and operational efficiency.

Cross Departmental Collaboration:
-
Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and other leadership teams to embed environmental stewardship into daily operations.

Provide clear risk communication and facilitate timely issue resolution and escalation.

Training and Development:
-
Develop and deliver targeted environmental training programs aligned with regulatory and business priorities.

Communicate compliance obligations and key performance indicators (KPIs) across the organization.

Technical Support:

Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned regulatory programs.

Monitor regulatory developments and assess potential business impacts.

Recommend strategic and operational improvements to strengthen environmental management systems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum or related) with at least 2 years of relevant years of experience; or Bachelors’ degree in HES related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience in a process industry; or High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of relevant experience in process industry (e.g. refining, midstream, petrochemical, or other heavy industry).
