Location: Bismarck, ND – must be able to be in-office.
Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 annually (DOE)

About the Role

The Environmental Project Manager supports environmental compliance, remediation, and assessment projects across North Dakota. This role is intended for a developing project manager with hands-on environmental consulting experience who is ready to manage defined scopes under senior project manager guidance.

The position emphasizes coordination, documentation, and regulatory support across air, water, and spill prevention programs while maintaining field awareness. This is not a policy-owning or senior regulatory role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support environmental projects from initiation through closeout under senior PM oversight
  • Coordinate schedules, task tracking, and budgets for small to mid-sized projects
  • Assist with regulatory compliance activities, including:
    • SPCC, FRP, and SWPPP support
    • OGI and leak detection program assistance
    • Air permitting and Title V support tasks
    • SARA Title III / Tier II reporting assistance
    • NPDES permit coordination and compliance tracking
  • Support PHMSA-related documentation and compliance coordination
  • Assist with wetland delineations and environmental field documentation under senior staff direction
  • Coordinate and support field activities related to site assessments, remediation, inspections, and monitoring
  • Prepare draft technical reports, plans, and regulatory submittals
  • Interface with clients and regulatory agencies in a supporting capacity
  • Track project progress, documentation status, and change requests

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field
  • 2–4 years of experience supporting or managing environmental consulting projects
  • Experience assisting with regulatory compliance or environmental permitting activities
  • Familiarity with air, water, spill prevention, and reporting programs
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting SPCC, FRP, SWPPP, NPDES, air permitting, or Tier II reporting
  • Exposure to OGI monitoring or PHMSA-related documentation
  • Field experience supporting environmental assessments or wetland delineations
