We are looking for an ESG Specialist and an ESG Supervisor to join our Sustainability and HSEQ Department at Çalık Renewables. The ideal candidates will ensure the implementation and monitoring of all Environmental, Social and Governance aspects in alignment with IFC Performance Standards, the Equator Principles, and Çalık Renewables’ internal policies.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related fields.

Advanced proficiency in English (written and spoken)

Familiarity with international environmental and social (E&S) standards (IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, etc.) and experience working with project finance and lenders’ E&S requirements, either in a project or consultancy setting.

Knowledge in Carbon Disclosure Project Reporting, carbon credits, ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ISO 14064-1 Corporate Carbon Footprint Calculation, and ISO 14046 Water Footprint Standards.

Strong knowledge of local (Turkish) and international environmental regulations, standards, and permitting processes.

Minimum 3 years of experience in Renewable Energy Projects and ESG, or 5 years of experience in Environmental and Social Compliance of Energy Projects.

Strong knowledge of ESG risk assessment methodologies and standards.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Proactive, analytical, and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Experience with data management and ESG reporting tools.
-
Completed military service (for male candidates).

Class B driver’s license.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for project site visits when required.
Responsibilities:

Executing local Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and International Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) processes for energy projects and related studies such as Biodiversity Management Plans.

Preparing and implementing Environmental and Social Management Plans and procedures for projects.
-
Following and reporting lenders’ environmental and social findings and managing compliance with the requirements.
-
Identifying, reviewing, and assessing environmental and social red flags prior to renewable energy project development.

Developing and monitoring Livelihood Restoration Plans and a Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM).
-
Following waste inventory records and overseeing disposal or recycling processes for operations and investments.

Calculating carbon and water footprints of operations and managing certification processes.
-
Preparing carbon credit certification documents and ensuring readiness for audits.
-
Training employees on ESG awareness.
-
Writing monitoring reports on environmental and social issues for all operations and projects.
-
Consulting and advising decision-makers on best environmental practices.
-
Carrying out site visits and reporting observations.
-
Keeping abreast of legislative changes in environmental law.
-
Engaging with internal and external partners to stay informed about sector best practices and regulatory changes related to ESG.

Executing the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) process.

Participating in stakeholder engagement activities and addressing inquiries related to ESG practices.
