Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in environmental monitoring, sampling, or related roles.
Requirements
- Proficient in data management and analysis; familiar with environmental sampling techniques.
- Experience with data entry software and environmental management systems.
- Understanding of environmental regulations and best practices in monitoring and waste management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in remote and rugged field environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing Barrick’s Sustainability Policy and associated procedures and standards.
- Help develop environmental programs, inspections, controls, and consultations to maintain environmental and safety standards.
- Aid in field-based environmental monitoring, sampling, and data collection.
- Perform inspections of soil, water, waste management, flora, and fauna.
- Participate in waste management strategies including hazardous waste identification, handling, and disposal.
- Support development of environmental management plans and key strategies.
- Assist in preparing reports and documentation for environmental permits, regulatory submissions, and stakeholder consultations.
- Provide technical support including data entry, reporting, and communication with staff, contractors, and consultants.
- Support development and execution of environmental training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
