The EOR and Operations Principal supports Flex Work's Employer of Record (EOR) operations by executing critical HR and compliance functions. This role plays a key part in ensuring that Flex Work maintains a compliant, efficient, and well-documented employment framework across multiple jurisdictions. The position requires strong attention to detail, exceptional organization, and the ability to interpret and apply labor laws and company policies accurately.
This individual will help manage HR processes from workers’ compensation to policy administration, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local labor laws. The EOR and Operations Principal will also contribute to HR investigations, support continuous improvement of HR systems and documentation, and serve as a reliable point of coordination between Flex Work's leadership, workers, and EOR vendors.
What you'll get to do
- Stay informed and ensuring compliance with on evolving federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain and update Flex Work's Worker Handbook and HR policies to reflect legal changes and company standards
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation required for audits and compliance reviews
- Administer workers’ compensation programs, including claims reporting, follow-up, and coordination with insurance carriers and EOR partners
- Conduct and document HR incident investigations in collaboration with the EOR leader and legal counsel when necessary
- Contribute to ongoing HR projects, including compliance audits, process improvements, and employee communications
- Be a motivated, bold champion of change that can leverage blended technical acumen and HR functional expertise to proactively operationalize process excellence while driving innovation
- Foster positive relationships with customers and stakeholders within the business and maximize the value of those relationships to drive cross functional operations
- Recommend process improvements, innovative solutions, and policy changes. Provide advice and options on the best way to automate processes in the system and see them to execution.
- Partner with stakeholders and subject-matter specialists from various teams such as HR, Payroll, Operations and others to address and provide solutions to business needs
- Assist with execution of system changes (updates, integrations, new configurations) and participate in all aspects of system testing
- Document procedures to support build out and maturation of the function
Skills and experiences we value
- 5-10 years of HR operations or compliance experience, preferably in an EOR or multi-state environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of federal and state labor law, including wage and hour, leave, and safety regulations
- Experience managing workers’ compensation claims and HR investigations
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Advanced skills in the following areas: Word, Excel, HRIS systems
- Strong customer service, problem solving, project management and communication skills
- Exceptional diligence and attention to detail. Must be detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple simultaneous assignments promptly and effectively.
- Strong level of personal organization and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work calmly in a fast-paced team environment. Motivate, self-driven and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
