Overview:
The Instructional Designer II plays a key role in creating impactful learning experiences that support a remarkable patient journey. This position designs, develops, and delivers innovative education strategies using diverse formats such as instructor-led training, virtual learning, and computer-based modules.


Schedule:
8:00AM – 5:00PM (On call support required, as needed).

Location: Remote (Virginia; North Carolina; South Carolina; or Georgia only)

Department: EPIC Training

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze education needs and design blended learning solutions for assigned EPIC application(s).
  • Master EPIC application functionality and organization-specific workflows for your application area.
  • Build, test, and maintain training environments, including practice exercises and simulations.
  • Develop engaging instructional materials that align with adult learning principles and organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure training supports operational excellence and patient experience.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience in instructional design and adult learning methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of EPIC applications and healthcare workflows (preferred).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality training solutions.
Reporting Relationship:
Reports to the Dimensions Training Manager
What We're Looking For:
  • Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum three years of experience in healthcare, training, or education, required.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Must obtain Epic certification(s) AFTER employment, must obtain each Epic certification(s) initially assigned within 6 months, required.
    • Training Environment Proficiency. Obtain AFTER employment, must obtain within 6 months., required.
  • Additional Skills (required):
      • Communication: Creates an environment that supports and respects diversity to promote creative problem solving. Communicates the value of activities within the organization and community to gain cooperation and collaborative partnership.
      • Customer Service: Holds staff accountable for customer service standards and ensures service recovery when needed. Ensures staff responds to customers in a timely manner.

      • Digital Fluency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, specifically Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Additional Skills (preferred):

      • Intellectual depth, moral integrity, personal vision, creativity, leadership skills, fortitude, sincerity and diplomacy.
      • Ability to work independently and as a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside of Novant Health.
      • Bilingual in Spanish / English
