We are looking for a trainee to work with our Epic Patient Access and Revenue Cycle area. This employee functions in an intern or entry-level role. It is designed to work part-time for four to five months. The trainee works with program management professionals to support the Office of the CMIO in implementing the top-tier healthcare Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, EPIC. Participates in projects across clinical technology and learns best practice IT skills. This is a chance to work with a system that immediately impacts UTHealth patients, providers, and staff.
Compensation is hourly, and there are no benefits associated with this role. You will be working out of our University Professional Building in a flexible hybrid remote and on-site schedule.
Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Assists in training curriculum, technology solutions, and building course catalogs that will be available to our clinicians and end-users
2. Assists in testing of the EPIC EMR system.
3. Assists in planning and execution of roadshows and engagement events to prepare end-users for the new system.
4. Assists with coordinating with internal resources and third parties/vendors for on-time completion of deliverables.
5. Assists with ongoing support to users/clients to resolve problems.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Dependable team member who is self-motivated, energetic, wants to learn, great at troubleshooting, has an affinity for training and technology, and enjoys a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented, able to work under tight time frames, multitask, prioritize, and complete duties in a timely manner. Good reasoning capabilities.
Minimum Education:
A bachelor's degree is preferred, preferably in information systems or healthcare administration. May substitute required education with equivalent years of additional experience beyond the minimum experience requirement.
Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
