Epidemiologist - NAURU DEPLOYMENT

Epidemiologist – Republic of Nauru
Country Location: Nauru

Be a part of strengthening public health systems in the Pacific.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Epidemiologist to support disease surveillance, outbreak response, and data-driven decision-making for national health planning in the Republic of Nauru. You’ll play a critical role in improving health outcomes in a country facing a growing burden of non-communicable and communicable diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement disease surveillance systems
• Monitor and analyze public health trends (e.g. NCDs, infectious diseases)
• Lead outbreak investigations and coordinate response efforts
• Build capacity in data collection, reporting, and epidemiological training for local health workers
• Advise on evidence-based public health interventions and policies

Qualifications and Skills:

• Master’s or Doctorate in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or related field
• Minimum 3–5 years experience in applied epidemiology or public health surveillance
• Experience in outbreak response and epidemiologic fieldwork
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills (e.g., R, STATA, or Excel-based tools)
• Excellent cross-cultural communication and training skills
• Experience working in small island developing states (SIDS) or remote settings is a plus
