Responsible for overseeing the maintenance, inventory, distribution, and tracking of installation tools and equipment. This role supports field operations by ensuring all tools are properly maintained, organized, and available for use. The ideal candidate will be bilingual (Spanish/English), technically skilled in tool and installation equipment, and proficient with inventory and computer systems used for tracking and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Equipment & Tool Oversight
- Maintain, inspect, and service tools and equipment used for furniture installation and related fieldwork.
- Ensure all gear is safe, fully functional, and ready for dispatch at all times.
- Identify worn or unsafe equipment and coordinate timely repairs or replacements.
2. Inventory Management
- Use digital systems (e.g., Tool App, Excel, or equivalent) to log and track all tool check-ins, check-outs, assignments, and locations.
- Maintain up-to-date inventory records for company-owned tools and project-specific equipment.
- Coordinate inventory counts, restocking, and monthly audits.
3. Bilingual Communication & Team Support
- Communicate clearly with both English and Spanish-speaking field personnel and shop staff.
- Provide verbal and written tool handling instructions and safety guidance in both languages when needed.
- Serve as the point of contact between field crews, dispatch, and operations for equipment-related matters.
4. Warehouse / Shop Management
- Keep the shop clean, secure, and well-organized with clear tool zones, racking systems, and safe storage practices.
- Coordinate product staging, loading, and unloading in alignment with dispatch needs.
- Implement best practices for packing, stacking, and labeling equipment for field delivery.
5. Procurement & Vendor Relations
- Assist in selecting, ordering, and receiving new tools and consumables.
- Work with approved vendors to compare pricing, warranties, and repair services.
- Maintain logs for tool purchase dates, warranties, and maintenance schedules.
6. Field Coordination
- Ensure crews receive correct tools and equipment for job scope based on dispatch schedules.
- Support field teams with urgent tool needs or replacements.
- Track tools returning from job sites and inspect for completeness and damage.
7. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all tool and equipment use complies with OSHA standards and internal policies.
- Maintain shop safety procedures and train field/shop staff on tool care and handling protocols.
- Record incidents, damage reports, and contribute to safety investigations when needed.
8. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and submit weekly reports on tool usage, damage, loss, and maintenance.
- Track and report labor or budget impacts related to equipment issues or delays.
- Maintain historical logs for audits, insurance, and compliance purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
- Strong computer skills: Excel, Google Sheets, tool inventory apps, or warehouse software.
- Familiarity with construction/furniture installation tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts—certification preferred).
- Strong communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
