Summary
Evaluates, selects and orders equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of company products. Oversees the installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Maintains current records on equipment manufacturers’ technical notices, upgrades and safety issues. Studies equipment performance and reliability. Establishes programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process. Provides technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations. Defines and writes preventative maintenance schedules.
Job Description
Main Task & Assignments
  • Define specs with Cross Functional teams for local equipment (misc. process equipment)
  • Support equipment engineering and cost reduction verification and validation activities
  • Identify and approve local equipment vendors
  • Reviews and estimates design costs of equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
  • Plans for facilities change for production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Establish service contracts and SLA for local equipment
  • Execute equipment IQ/OQ and support PQ activities
  • Ensure equipment uptime
  • Oversee the planning, development, modification, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Evaluates equipment processes, machinery, and workflow systems to optimize operational efficiencies
  • Evaluates and applies equipment automation and computerized technologies to manufacturing processes and systems
  • Investigates and initiates corrective action on equipment and facilities related to manufacturing problems and initiates corrective action
  • Reviews, evaluates, and implements equipment changes and specification requirements
  • Acts as technical liaison with facilities planning and manufacturing engineering personnel
  • Develop systems to maintain reports and record keeping of equipment changes and how that affects manufacturing processing
  • Evaluates, selects, and installs equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of company products
  • Defines and evaluates appropriate preventative maintenance schedule
Education, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Electrical / Electronic Engineering from Premier Institute with good academics.
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise (Preferred from Healthcare devices manufacturing industry)
  • 2-5 years’ experience in Equipment Engineering and maintenance
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, inventory management and human resources)
  • Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity and cost
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve results
  • Ability to coach and develop others
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • High degree of integrity and honesty in all dealings
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge
  • Proficiency in creating, reviewing, and editing of relevant technical documents.
  • Proficient in employing the latest industry techniques and practices.
  • Familiar with the latest available tools or standards used in the industry to complete task(s).
Required Certifications and Training
  • Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility.
Experience Level with Business Tools
  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
