Grimmway Produce Group is seeking an Equipment Mechanic III responsible to independently perform diagnostics and repairs in the areas of fabrication, hydraulics, engines. drivetrains, emissions, electrical, and misc. mechanical on various types of farm and heavy equipment with minimal assistance or guidance. What You Will Need:
-
Must possess or be able to acquire a Forklift Certification.
- 5+ years’ experience working in an equipment repair environment or facility, required.
-
Must have the ability to properly utilize a shop overhead crane or truck mounted crane to perform heavy lift repairs
- Experience operating stick or mig. welding equipment, required.
-
Ability to successfully diagnose and repair in the following areas, required:
-
12V & 24V electrical systems
- R134a air conditioning and heating systems
-
Hydraulic systems (i.e. pumps, motors, cylinders, various component diagnosis, system operation and installation.)
-
Drivetrain component repairs (i.e., Transmissions, clutches, differentials, transfer case, etc.)
-
High pressure diesel fuel systems
- Cooling system & charging repairs
-
DTC diagnostics troubleshooting on all types of diesel and gas engines
-
Diesel-powered engines (i.e., external, and internal mechanical, and computer diagnostics)
-
Diesel engine emissions systems (i.e., SCR, DOC, DPF systems)
-
Fabricate and assemble equipment using a combination of machinery and tools in the shop and field.

Ability to interpret repair manual procedures and hydraulic and electrical schematics, required.

Understand and follow prescribed shop and field safety regulations and procedures.
-
Mechanical aptitude and knowledge in the proper use of hand, pneumatic and electric power tools, commonly used in a shop environment, required.

Basic mathematical skills, required.
-
Previous experience in performing all levels of PM service procedures, required.

Capable of working with minimal supervision. Must have strong decision-making skills that promote safe working conditions, timely/efficient repairs, and accurate accounting of labor and materials.

Must be computer literate to foster clear communication with coworkers, supervisors, and outside vendors over various forms of technology.

Must be willing to train / mentor up and coming mechanics and technicians within the company

Ability to be on-call and work weekends, required.

Ability to travel to facilities and field locations, required.

Must be able to properly manage and maintain assigned shop tools and equipment.

Ability to read, write and understand written information in English, required.

Must have a valid Driver’s License with a clean DMV driving record.

Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation.
What Will Set You Apart:

Prior experience in the operation agricultural or construction equipment, preferred.

Bi-lingual English/Spanish, a plus.
