Position Overview

Candidate will operate all equipment including but not limited to: Loader, Haul Trucks with 30-75 Ton Capacity, Water Tanker, Tri Axle Truck and Sweeper.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties & Functions)

  • Operates heavy equipment in a safe and professional manner in the yard area
  • Keep vehicle clean inside and outside
  • Report any accident or incident to supervisor
  • Performs pre-and post-trip truck inspections. Fill out daily vehicle condition report.
  • Informs Service Technician and supervisor of any maintenance or repairs needed
  • Always wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Keep load counts
  • Performs all duties safely and in accordance with health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains awareness of MSHA regulations
  • Works as a team member with other employees within the crushing operation to ensure smooth operation.
  • Ensures crusher is fed consistently.
  • Continually drives truck within confines of the quarry to deliver material to crusher and stockpiles.

Requirements

The ideal Candidate will:

  • Demonstrate good performance, safety, and attendance
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, without direct supervision
  • Demonstrate a willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays/nights
  • Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators, and other employees
  • Demonstrate the ability to conform to and maintain MSHA and all other company policies or governmental state rules and regulations
  • Must have good depth perception and coordination to operate controls
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Pre-employment physical exam, pre-employment-controlled substance testing, and criminal background check are required before being employed by PJ Keating Company.

Education/Professional Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Experience with Quarry operations a plus
  • MSHA Certification

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
