Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Manager, Equipment Planning
to lead the strategic planning and analytics of the company’s equipment fleet. This role is responsible for
fleet demand planning, lifecycle and CAPEX planning, spare-parts and manpower forecasting, and performance analytics
to support data-driven decision making.
The position focuses on
planning, forecasting, and governance reporting
rather than operational equipment management. The successful candidate will provide insights that support senior management in optimizing fleet utilization, reducing rental dependency, and improving overall equipment cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Equipment Planning & Lifecycle Management

Develop
short, medium, and long-term equipment demand and capacity plans
aligned with business strategy.

Monitor fleet utilization across
owned and rental equipment
to ensure optimal allocation.

Analyze
planned vs. actual utilization
, idle equipment exposure, and rental dependency.

Develop
scenario and sensitivity models
to support fleet optimization initiatives.

Define and manage
equipment lifecycle strategies
, including acquisition, economic life, replacement, and disposal.

Prepare
CAPEX business cases
including ROI, IRR, payback period, and lifecycle cost analysis.

Support
fleet expansion, renewal, and optimization strategies
aligned with business growth plans.
Resource & Cost Planning

Forecast
spare parts requirements
based on fleet size, utilization levels, and reliability trends.

Balance spare parts availability with
working capital efficiency and downtime risk
.

Coordinate with
Maintenance and Supply Chain teams
to align spare parts planning.

Develop
manpower plans for operators and technicians
based on fleet capacity and productivity assumptions.

Support planning and budgeting of
equipment manpower costs
.
Performance Management, Budgeting & Governance
-
Define and monitor
key performance indicators (KPIs)
including utilization, cost efficiency, rental exposure, and CAPEX performance.

Develop
management dashboards and performance reports
using ERP and BI tools.

Lead preparation of
annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and multi-year equipment planning
.

Support
P&L planning
from equipment utilization and manpower cost perspectives.

Analyze
cost per hour and cost per unit
, identifying variances and improvement opportunities.

Provide structured
planning insights and reports
to Finance and senior leadership.

Develop and maintain
planning standards, governance frameworks, and reporting methodologies
.

Ensure compliance with company policies, delegated authority, and reporting requirements.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in
Civil Engineering or a related field
.
Experience
-
9–10 years of experience
in equipment planning, asset planning, CAPEX planning, or cost control roles.

Experience within
construction, infrastructure, or equipment rental industries
is highly preferred.
