ER - Patient Advocate - Nights - Tampa

Position details:

Status: Full Time
Facility: St. Joseph’s Hospital – Emergency Room
Location: Tampa, Florida
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM including every other weekend

Responsibilities:

  • The ER - Patient Advocate serves as a liaison between Emergency Room patients, physicians, staff and family members.
  • Assures patient and family needs are met and handles patient or family member complaints, concerns and questions.
  • Performs all department translations to include medical translations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Required specific skill of Bilingual needs to be Spanish and English.
  • Required completion of Medical Interpretation training school within 30 days of hire.
  • Medical Doctor from non-US (foreign school) can be accepted in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
  • Healthcare Interpreter certification is preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Related field
  • Bachelor's Degree - Social Services or Healthcare is preferred

Education specialization:

  • Social Services Counseling is preferred
  • Healthcare Informatics is preferred

Credential equivalent experience:

  • RN (Registered Nurse) is preferred
