Position details:
Status: Full Time
Facility: St. Joseph’s Hospital – Emergency Room
Location: Tampa, Florida
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM including every other weekend
Responsibilities:
- The ER - Patient Advocate serves as a liaison between Emergency Room patients, physicians, staff and family members.
- Assures patient and family needs are met and handles patient or family member complaints, concerns and questions.
- Performs all department translations to include medical translations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Required specific skill of Bilingual needs to be Spanish and English.
- Required completion of Medical Interpretation training school within 30 days of hire.
- Medical Doctor from non-US (foreign school) can be accepted in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
- Healthcare Interpreter certification is preferred
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree - Related field
- Bachelor's Degree - Social Services or Healthcare is preferred
Education specialization:
- Social Services Counseling is preferred
- Healthcare Informatics is preferred
Credential equivalent experience:
- RN (Registered Nurse) is preferred
