Hybrid: Our physical office is in Olympia, WA. We offer flexible work schedules and locations. This is a hybrid position where most of the work allows teleworking. However, you must travel to in-person activities, meetings, and events as needed for business purposes.

The job opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Integration Liaison to help bring this vision to life. In this pivotal role, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of the integration workstream and lead the technical aspects of designing, developing, and deploying enterprise integrations for the Workday ERP system. You’ll leverage your technical expertise in data integration methodologies, tools, architecture, and security to guide a high-performing team in building robust, scalable, and secure interfaces.

As the ERP Integration Liaison, you’ll collaborate closely with the System Implementer (SI) vendor Integration Lead and the OFM Data Integration Manager to ensure the successful design, testing, and deployment of in-scope integrations. This position requires a strong blend of technical integration skills and project management experience, ensuring that deliverables are met on time and align with program objectives.

Duties

What you will work on

  • Apply sound technical knowledge and development practices throughout the integration delivery lifecycle to produce high-quality, scalable, and secure integration solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Maintain the integration control inventory (ICI) of all in-scope integrations. Track and report on the overall status of all in-scope integrations, including the status of integrations within various environments, the migration of integration objects during tenant refreshes, and the transformation layer integration crosswalk.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, such as integration approach, design documents, field mappings, technical specifications, requirements, test plans/results, standards, templates, diagrams, release notes, knowledgebase articles, etc. Enforce expectations for maintaining high-quality documentation.
  • Support the intake of new integration work and support requests. Assist with decomposing and organizing the work, providing work estimates, evaluating resource capacity, and prioritizing work assignments.
  • Support Data Integration Manager with team adherence to approved strategies, plans, and processes; and compliance with all relevant Washington State and OFM policies, standards, and tools.
  • Collaborate with vendor integration lead, Data Integration Manager, project managers, and others to ensure all activities, deliverables, and milestones are represented in the project workplan. Monitor the process against project plans and timelines and take corrective action when needed to ensure that deliverables and milestones are completed on time.
  • Support the identification of integration-related risks, issues, vulnerabilities, and discrepancies. Manage integration-related risks, action items issues, & decisions (RAID), change requests (CRs), configuration requests for change (RFCs), and communication requests in accordance with approved processes.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to effectively manage risks. Quickly resolve or escalate issues in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a liaison between the integration team, leadership, and various stakeholder groups.
  • Collaborates on cross-workstream planning, coordination, and related activities to ensure integration of the team is aligned and working harmoniously towards the same project goals. Coordinate with testing, functional, and agency teams to conduct comprehensive testing of developed data integration solutions and interfaces.
  • Support the Data Integration Manager in facilitating team meetings, integration design/building reviews, and other team meetings. Coordinate integration workshops, presentations, and/or demonstrations to support internal knowledge sharing.
  • Support a productive and inclusive work environment by fostering collaboration, encouraging teamwork, open communications, and leading by example.
  • Collaborate with the Data Integration Manager to support problem-solving of complex technical issues, which includes defining the problem, conducting analysis and identifying potential solutions, implementing a solution, and evaluating outcomes.
  • Ensure adequate knowledge transfer between the system implementer, vendor, and integration developers

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of integration methodologies, technologies/tools, processes, and best practices, including common integration patterns, integration delivery lifecycle, enterprise integration design, architecture, security, testing, middleware (i.e. Informatica), ELT tools, APIs, and web services.
  • Emotional Intelligence & Relationship Building: Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical: Ability to analyze complex technical problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions to resolve issues.
  • Project Management: Ability to plan, organize, and execute projects, manage timelines, and ensure deliverables are complete on time.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies: Experience with cloud-based solutions and related technologies.
  • Strong Communication: Demonstrate strong ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of professional experience in designing, developing, and implementing system integrations.
  • Governmental/public-sector experience in managing complex IT projects, such as major system implementations, business transformations, and/or rollouts of cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) systems in an enterprise environment that serves a large number of customers.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) system implementations. Workday experience is preferable.
  • Experience with Project Management principles and methodologies. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and SharePoint.
  • Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation, including, but not limited to, integration design, field mappings/crosswalk, interface technical specifications, test plans, diagrams, release notes, templates, knowledge articles, implementation plans, etc.
  • An ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, where priorities are subject to change based on a variety of factors.
  • Proven ability to develop, present, and implement strategic and tactical plans in front of large audiences and/or to executive management within an organization.
