The Escort Operations Specialist is a part of our Sentinel Pilot Car Services team, and plays a vital role in keeping over-dimensional freight moving safely across the country. Internally, this position is known as a Pilot Car Representative.

Pilot Car Representatives with 2 to 3 years' experience, have potential incentive earnings of $25,000+ annually plus the starting salary range of $42-$46k DOE. In this role, you'll schedule and manage certified pilot car partners to ensure our OD loads are guided with professionalism, accuracy, and strict safety standards. You'll thrive here if you enjoy fast-paced work, excel at solving problems on the fly, and love building strong, productive relationships with both internal teams and external partners.

What You'll Do

  • Secure, schedule, and coordinate certified independent pilot car drivers to escort oversized loads — ensuring every move has the right support at the right price by negotiating competitive, market-smart rates.
  • Communicate clear, accurate route details and logistics to both truck drivers and pilot car partners, creating smooth, on-time execution from start to finish.
  • Review and verify pilot car invoices with precision, ensuring accuracy and timely processing so our partners are paid promptly.
  • Resolve issues quickly and confidently — from service disruptions to safety concerns, communication gaps, or payment questions — keeping our operations running safely and efficiently.
  • Provide limited after-hours support using a company-issued phone to ensure coverage and responsiveness when needed.

What You'll Bring

  • Higher education and/or 2+ years of work experience in customer service, transportation, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of sales, marketing, and customer service fundamentals.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected events.
  • Collaborative working style with a team-first mentality.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple priorities at once.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Total cash compensation range of this position is $50,000 to $70,000+ which includes a base salary range starting at $42,000 - $46,000+ plus position-specific incentive. Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location as compared to others doing substantially similar work. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.
