Escrow Loan Assistant

First Financial Bank has an immediate opening for an Escrow Loan Assistant at the Corporate Office located in El Dorado, Arkansas.

The primary responsibility of this position is to monitor and pay Hazard, Flood and Life Insurance and Real Estate Taxes for Loan Portfolio according to Federal and State Law in addition to Investor Guidelines.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED; one to two years of college in business, accounting, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field. Insurance and tax experience desired.

COMPLEXITY: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, volume, and percentages. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, legal documents, financial reports, and procedure manuals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure all Insurance Policies are current, coverage is adequate and pay premiums as needed. Monitor loan portfolio to make sure there are no lapses in insurance that could jeopardize our interest in the property. Administer Force Placed Insurance as needed. Pay Real Estate Property Taxes for Escrowed loans and monitor Delinquent Taxes for Non-Escrowed loans. Pay Private Mortgage Insurance. Pay Life Insurance Premiums, monitor Assignments and Cancellations. Monitor and process Insurance Loss Claims. Quality Control Loan Collateral vs. Insurance Coverage/Tax Contract. Establish and maintain contact with multiple trading partners such as force placed insurance carrier, insurance companies, tax offices, and tax service provider in order to service loans. Prepare all Escrow documents to be imaged. Research, answer calls, questions, and emails from Loan Production offices and Borrowers concerning Escrow/Loans. Know basic loan operations. Assist with projects, filing and other duties as assigned by management.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Position requires individual who has excellent customer communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills. Also requires an individual who has excellent organizational skills and can work well under pressure. Requires strong computer background in Excel and Word.
