ESL Tutor

Seeking an experienced ESL tutor to work with a second grader at their home in Birmingham, AL 35242. It is a bonus if you can tutor students of all ages, including adults.

The tutor must have ESL experience, as the student is a foreign national with limited English proficiency. The tutor will provide their own materials and tailor lessons to the student’s specific learning style and needs.

Requirements:

• Must be certified with at least one year of classroom teaching experience.
• Must be able to work at the student's home in Layton during after-school hours (flexible schedule).
• Must be able to commute to the family’s home.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the USA (Citizen/Green Card/Valid Work Permit). We do not provide sponsorship.

Tutoring Schedule:

• Weekdays, Monday–Friday (specific schedules vary per student).

Additional Information: Qualified candidates will be required to provide the following prior to hiring:

• At least two professional references.
• A degree in Education (Teaching Certificate preferred) and English as a Second Language expereince.
• Tutors will be hired as W-9 contractors and paid monthly based on hours tutored.
• Candidates must pass an initial screening process and undergo a thorough background check.
