GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Learning and Development Specialist will help and support the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training & development programs at MCS to improve individual, team, and organizational performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assesses training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, instructors, and customer representatives.
  • Develops unique training and development programs to fulfill employees’ specific needs to maintain or improve skills.
  • Creates and/or updates training procedures, manuals, guides, and course materials.
  • Facilitates training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussions, lectures, simulations, and videos.
  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.
  • Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders regarding employee training needs.
  • Organize, develop, or source training programs to meet specific training needs.
  • Liaise with subject matter experts regarding instructional design.
  • Develop training material such as quick reference guides, tests, presentations, and handouts.
  • Must comply fully and consistently with all company policies and procedures, with local and federal laws as well as with the regulations applicable to our Industry, to maintain appropriate business and employment practices.

  • May carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned, according to the requirements of education and experience contained in this document.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is required. At least three (3) years of learning and development and/or project management experience that demonstrates your ability to perform.
