Essay Writer Specialist (Remote)

We’re looking for a rare kind of writer — part storyteller, part psychologist, part cultural observer. This role goes far beyond technical editing. It requires imagination, emotional intelligence, and a deep understanding of archetypes, character journeys, and transformation arcs. You will conduct in-depth interviews with students to uncover powerful, authentic stories and transform them into cinematic, human, and unforgettable application essays. Your work will shape how ambitious students present themselves to the world’s most selective institutions, including the Ivy League and other elite global universities. What You’ll Do ● Extract meaningful stories through deep, thoughtful student interviews ● Craft compelling, voice-driven narratives for: ○ Common App Personal Statements ○ Ivy League & top private university supplements ○ UCAS Personal Statements ○ Statements of Purpose (Master’s & PhD) ○ Motivation Letters ● Adapt storytelling style across countries, cultures, and institutions ● Position students strategically for highly competitive admissions ● Collaborate with counselors to align essays with academics, extracurriculars, and profile themes ● Elevate ordinary experiences into extraordinary, metaphor-rich narratives What We’re Looking For ● Exceptional English writing and editing skills ● Strong understanding of selective university admissions (especially top-tier schools) ● Mastery of character-led, emotionally resonant storytelling ● Deep familiarity with books, films, television, and pop culture ● Understanding of archetypes, symbolism, and narrative structure ● Ability to make elite ambition feel human — never robotic ● Creative brainstorming skills paired with strategic thinking ● Strong deadline management and revision discipline
