Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Estate Planning Attorney with 3–5 years of experience to join our Houston office. The ideal candidate will advise clients on estate planning, trusts, wills, and related tax matters, while providing high-quality, strategic legal counsel. This role involves drafting estate planning documents, working directly with clients, and collaborating with other attorneys and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on estate, gift, and succession planning.
  • Coordinate with clients, financial advisors, and other professionals to implement estate plans.
  • Assist with estate administration, probate matters, and trust management as needed.
  • Research and analyze complex estate planning, tax, and fiduciary law issues.
  • Advise on compliance with federal and state estate, gift, and income tax laws.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure smooth workflow and client service.
  • Stay current on legal developments, industry trends, and regulatory changes affecting estate planning.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar.
  • 3–5 years of estate planning experience preferred, including experience with trusts, wills, and probate.
  • Strong knowledge of estate, gift, and income tax laws.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client matters.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with document management systems and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
