The Esthetics Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical and practical instruction to students enrolled in the Esthetics program at Southeastern Health and Wellness Institute – Columbia. This role supports student success through engaging instruction, hands-on clinical training, and consistent adherence to state, accreditation, and institutional standards. The Esthetics Instructor serves as a professional role model, upholding excellence in sanitation, compliance, and ethical practice while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Instruction & Curriculum Delivery
- Deliver classroom and clinical instruction in accordance with the approved Esthetics curriculum and institutional learning outcomes.
- Prepare and implement lesson plans that align with course objectives, state requirements, and accreditation standards.
- Provide hands-on demonstrations and supervise students in the clinical learning environment.
- Evaluate student performance through exams, practical assessments, projects, and daily participation.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of attendance, grades, evaluations, and student progress.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by administration
2. Student Support & Engagement
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment.
- Provide academic guidance, feedback, and mentorship to students.
- Identify students needing additional support and collaborate with Campus Leadership on intervention strategies.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and professionalism with all students.
3. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations including SC LLR, institutional policies, and accreditation standards.
- Accurately document attendance, hours, grades, and clinical services in accordance with reporting requirements.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and accreditation visits as required.
4. Sanitation & Clinical Oversight
- Enforce strict adherence to sanitation, infection control, and safety protocols at all times.
- Ensure classrooms and clinic areas are clean, organized, stocked, and inspection-ready.
- Educate students on proper sanitation, disinfection, and professional conduct.
5. Professional Conduct & Collaboration
- Model professionalism, ethical behavior, and strong work ethic.
- Attend required faculty meetings, in-service training, and professional development sessions.
- Collaborate with Campus Leadership, Admissions, Student Services, and clinical staff as needed.
Policy Adherence & Institutional Standards
- The Esthetics Instructor is required to understand, follow, and enforce all policies and procedures outlined in the Southeastern Health and Wellness Institute Student Catalog AND Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Manual.
- This role is responsible for ensuring student compliance with SOPs related to academics, clinic operations, sanitation, and professional conduct.
- Failure to adhere to institutional policies may result in corrective action in accordance with Institute policy.
Qualifications
- Current South Carolina Esthetics Instructor License (or eligibility to obtain)
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a licensed esthetician
- Teaching or training experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of state regulations, sanitation standards, and professional best practices
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
