Estimation and Costing Engineer – EPC Projects

We are seeking an experienced Estimation Engineer responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and well-structured cost estimates for EPC projects. The role involves close coordination with the Quantity Surveying team, with quantities provided by the QS Engineer, while the Estimation Engineer leads rate analysis, cost build-up, and overall pricing strategy, as well as contributing to high-quality techno-commercial submissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) in coordination with the QS Engineer
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates based on quantity take-offs, specifications, and project requirements
  • Establish accurate unit rates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontract works
  • Analyze and validate supplier and subcontractor quotations against current market rates
  • Prepare complete cost breakdowns across all disciplines, including civil, structural, architectural, and MEP works
  • Identify project risks, exclusions, and opportunities for cost optimization and value engineering
  • Lead and contribute to the preparation of high-level techno-commercial proposals, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and competitiveness
  • Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, and operations) to align technical and commercial inputs
  • Maintain and update a cost database including material rates, productivity benchmarks, and market trends

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in EPC estimation (UAE/GCC preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of material rates, labor costs, and construction methodologies across all disciplines
  • Proven ability to generate complete and reliable cost estimates independently based on provided quantities
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing high-quality techno-commercial proposals
  • Experience working in coordination with QS teams and interpreting quantity take-offs
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation tools
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight tender deadlines
