Estimation Engineer - 1 Year Contract Role

We are currently seeking a Estimation Engineer - 12 Months Contract Role for one of our very well-known client, to be based in their Dubai office.

Job Purpose:

This role involves end-to-end responsibility for the design, costing, coordination, and commissioning of Modular Package Chilling Plants, MVVSD retrofits, and associated electrical and control systems. The candidate will work closely with internal teams, vendors, contractors, and clients to ensure technical compliance and successful project delivery.

Job Responsibilities:

MODULAR PACKAGE CHILLING PLANT RESPONSIBILITY:

• Review tender documents including equipment schedules, specifications, vendor lists, schematics, and BOQs. Prepare RFIs to clarify scope as needed.
• Attend tender kick-off meetings and site visits with contractors, consultants, and clients to gain a full understanding of project requirements.
• Prepare pre-qualification submittals for electrical scope. Coordinate with local electrical vendors and contractors to gather necessary documentation.
• Prepare pre-qualification submittals for control & instrumentation (C&I) scope. Liaise with relevant vendors and contractors for required documents.
• Design electrical infrastructure for the modular plant in compliance with local authority regulations (e.g., DEWA, ADDC, Kahramaa, MEW). Develop load schedules, single-line diagrams, and schematics.
• Design control & instrumentation infrastructure including control schematics, data point schedules, system architecture, and sequence of operations.
• Issue RFQs to local electrical and C&I vendors (e.g., LVMCC, switchgear, soft starters, VSDs, PFCs, PLC/SCADA, cables). Coordinate with the regional SCM team for cost negotiations.
• Review technical data and vendor quotations. Summarize and evaluate offers to identify the most compliant and cost-effective solutions.
• Consolidate costs across mechanical, electrical, C&I, operations, and contractor scopes from all local vendors.
• Prepare comprehensive costing for YORK Modularized Package Plant in alignment with project scope.
• Develop technical submittals for electrical and C&I scope. Coordinate with vendors to ensure complete documentation and compliance statements.
• Respond to technical comments and clarifications. Meet with contractors, consultants, and clients to explain proposals and deviations. Coordinate with vendors for additional input.
• Consolidate vendor quotations and advise SCM on shortlisted vendors and further negotiation requirements.
• Coordinate with Factory during assembly and manufacturing of the YORK Modular Package Chiller (YMPC).
• Support site commissioning and coordinate with electrical and mechanical vendors.

MEDIUM VOLTAGE VARIABLE SPEED DRIVE (MVVSD) RETROFITS RESPONSIBILITY :

• Review tender documents including equipment schedules, specifications, vendor lists, and BOQs. Prepare RFIs as needed.
• Attend tender meetings and site visits to assess motor compatibility with MVVSD systems.
• Coordinate with MVVSD suppliers to provide technical documentation required by the sales team (e.g., datasheets, compliance statements).
• Prepare technical submittals for MVVSD scope. Liaise with vendors to ensure complete and compliant documentation.
• Respond to comments and clarifications. Meet with stakeholders to explain proposals and coordinate with vendors for technical support.

CHILLER PALNT MANAGER/CONTROL/STARTER PANELS:

• Design and estimate the chiller plant manager with or without peripherals as per the request.
• Design and estimate the Control/Starter panels as per the request.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Member of the technical support team working on projects in UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, other MEA region (if applied) to achieve department and project objectives.
• Receives and successfully understands and applies training on company's Engineered Systems equipment, selection/configuration tools and pricing systems
• Uses standard company's development processes and tools in performing tasks.
• Responsible for establishing an ongoing partnership with the customer on assigned projects.

REQUIREMENT PROFILE (QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED):

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum Eight years’ experience in ELV/Controls/Automation of HVAC System
• Entry level function-specific licenses or certifications preferred (e.g., Professional engineer)
• Works effectively in team settings and displays leadership.
