Estimation Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimation Engineer – Mechanical to join our team in Sharjah/Dubai. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 7 years of UAE experience in the construction industry, specifically in mechanical project works including structural, piping, tanks, fabrication, and related projects. The role involves preparing accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs), conducting project cost estimations, and supporting the tendering process.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on project specifications and drawings.
• Conduct cost estimation for mechanical works including structural steel, piping, tanks, and fabrication works.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
• Liaise with procurement, engineering, and project teams to gather pricing data and ensure accurate estimations.
• Participate in tendering processes, including vendor/supplier interactions and subcontractor negotiations.
• Assist in budget preparation, project planning, and cost control processes.
• Evaluate potential risks and variations in project scope and provide value engineering where applicable.
• Stay updated on market trends, material costs, and labor rates in the UAE construction industry.
• Provide support during pre- and post-contract phases of the project.

Qualification and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 2 to 7 years of UAE experience in mechanical estimation within the construction industry is mandatory.
• Proven expertise in mechanical project works including structural steel, piping, tanks, and fabrication.
• Proficient in preparing BOQs, technical proposals, and cost analysis.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards in the UAE.
• Excellent knowledge of estimation software, MS Excel, and AutoCAD; familiarity with Primavera or similar tools is an advantage.
• Structural design knowledge is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.
