About the Role -We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fitout/Joinery/ MEP Estimator with approximately 4 years of experience in the Interior Decoration Industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for MEP projects, managing project budgets, and supporting the project management team from pre-construction through project completion.
Responsibilities -
Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for MEP projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
Tender Preparation: Assist in preparing tender submissions and proposals, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
Takeoffs: Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications.
Supplier and Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, assess their competitiveness, and incorporate them into estimates.
Project Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive records of estimates, including change orders, variations, and final costs.
Cost Analysis and Budgeting: Analyze costs and track project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within the allocated budget.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities during the estimation phase.
Collaboration: Work closely with the project management and design teams to ensure the feasibility of estimates and delivery within project timelines.
Site Visits: Conduct site inspections if necessary to gather data for accurate estimating and to assess project conditions.
Required Skills -
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar MEP estimating role within the construction industry (commercial or residential).
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction and MEP processes, building materials, and industry standards.
Software Proficiency: Experience using estimating software (e.g., Procore, CostX, Buildsoft, or similar). Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Attention to Detail: Ability to interpret complex project documentation, including architectural drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Organizational Skills: Strong time-management and organizational abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications: A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Willingness to learn and develop further within the estimating field.
Experience working with a range of stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
