Estimation Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Estimation Engineer with strong experience in steel structure fabrication projects within the GCC. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, material take-offs, BOQs, and tender submissions for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure steel projects including PEB, warehouses, high-rise buildings, and special steel structures.

Key ResponsibilitiesTendering & Cost Estimation

• Study tender drawings, specifications, and contract documents in detail.
• Prepare complete cost estimates for steel fabrication, painting, galvanizing, transportation, and erection works.
• Develop BOQs, cost breakdowns, and pricing summaries.
• Analyze drawings and perform material take-off (MTO) for structural steel, bolts, plates, gratings, handrails, ladders, etc.
• Prepare comparison statements for suppliers and subcontractors.

Material & Manpower Costing

• Calculate fabrication man-hours, machine hours, and erection productivity.
• Prepare manpower, equipment, and material cost analysis.
• Coordinate with procurement for updated material prices (steel plates, pipes, sections, bolts, paint systems, etc.).

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination

• Send RFQs to suppliers and subcontractors.
• Evaluate quotations and prepare technical & commercial comparison sheets.
• Negotiate rates with vendors when required.

Project Coordination

• Coordinate with engineering, planning, and production departments for realistic costing.
• Support project team during post-award stage with cost clarifications.
• Assist in value engineering and alternative proposal preparation.

Risk & Commercial Analysis

• Identify commercial and technical risks in tenders.
• Highlight exclusions, assumptions, and clarifications.
• Support contract review and tender submission process.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain tender records and estimation databases.
• Prepare management reports for tender status and bid values.
• Support audits and management reviews when required.
