Estimation Engineer

Job Title:

Estimation Engineer – LV Switchgear & PLC Control Panel

Job Summary:

Responsible for detailed techno-commercial estimation and procurement of LV switchgear and PLC-based control panels, ensuring compliance with project specifications, standards, and delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, tender documents, specifications, BOQs, and drawings
• Select components such as ACB, MCCB, contactors, relays, VFDs, PLC, HMI, power supplies, and I/O modules.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for:
• LV Switchgear (MDB, SMDB, MCC, PCC panels)
• PLC-based control panels and automation systems
• Interpret single-line diagrams (SLDs) and control schematics
• Perform load calculations, component sizing, and technical selections
• Source quotations from vendors and suppliers (e.g., breakers, PLCs, VFDs, relays)
• Evaluate supplier offers and prepare cost comparisons
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards (IEC, local utility regulations)
• Attend pre-bid meetings and respond to client clarifications
• Coordinate with design, procurement, and sales teams
• Maintain estimation records and cost databases
• Prepare techno-commercial offers and bid documentation.

Technical Requirements

• Strong knowledge of:
• LV Switchgear systems (MDB, MCC, PCC, DBs)
• PLC systems (e.g., ABB, Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, Allen-Bradley)
• SCADA and industrial automation basics
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with protection systems and control circuits
• Knowledge of local authority standards (e.g., ADDC/DEWA) is an advantage
