Role Overview

An Estimation Engineer (GRC/GFRC) is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, tender documents, and pricing for GRC projects. This includes analyzing architectural drawings, determining material and labor requirements, evaluating production costs, and ensuring competitive and profitable bids for façade, cladding, and decorative concrete elements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tendering & Cost Estimation

  • Review and analyze tender documents, architectural/structural drawings, and specifications.
  • Identify the scope of GRC works and prepare accurate quantity take-offs (QTO).
  • Calculate production, transportation, and installation costs for GRC elements.
  • Develop detailed cost breakdowns — materials, labor, molds, reinforcement, fixings, and finishes.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals for clients and contractors.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for competitiveness and compliance.

2. Technical Coordination

  • Coordinate with design and production teams to confirm material consumption rates and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Recommend optimal mix designs or manufacturing approaches to balance quality and cost.
  • Support the design team in defining production methods, mold strategies, and installation techniques.

3. Value Engineering

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities in material selection, mold reusability, and installation methods.
  • Suggest alternatives (e.g., panel thickness optimization, fixing system simplification).

4. Database & Cost Control

  • Maintain an updated cost database for materials, labor, and factory overheads.
  • Track actual vs. estimated costs to improve accuracy for future bids.
  • Support project managers in cost monitoring during execution.

5. Client & Management Interaction

  • Attend pre-bid meetings and clarification sessions with clients or consultants.
  • Present cost reports and bid summaries to management.
  • Coordinate with procurement for updated price lists and supplier performance.
