Estimation Engineer - Fire Fighting system

Key Responsibilities – Fire Fighting System Estimation, Design, and Tendering

• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and related documents to prepare clear, detailed, and accurate estimates for fire fighting system installations and upgrades.
• Conduct site surveys and review tender documentation in coordination with engineering and sales teams to assess scope and project requirements.
• Select appropriate fire fighting system components, materials, and equipment in line with client needs, applicable codes, and best engineering practices.
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor inputs, ensuring cost competitiveness and risk management.
• Collaborate with design, procurement, and project management colleagues to ensure all technical and commercial aspects of bids are addressed effectively and aligned with business objectives.
• Support the preparation and submission of technical and commercial proposals for fire fighting system tenders, ensuring all documentation is accurate and delivered within deadlines.
• Monitor market rates, vendor pricing, and emerging technologies in fire fighting systems to enhance the accuracy and competitiveness of estimates.

Required Skills – Fire Fighting System Estimation, Project Coordination, and Cost Analysis

• Demonstrated experience in estimating fire fighting systems for commercial, industrial, or large-scale residential projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of fire fighting equipment, piping layouts, hydraulic calculations, and relevant safety standards (NFPA, BS, or equivalent codes).
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with a high level of attention to detail in cost breakdowns and technical submissions.
• Outstanding organisational and communication skills to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
• Competency in industry-standard estimation software, MS Office applications, and AutoCAD (or similar design tools).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications & Experience – Fire Fighting, Mechanical Engineering, and Estimation

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a fire fighting system estimation or engineering role, preferably within contracting or construction environments.
• Thorough knowledge of fire fighting system codes and standards (such as NFPA, BS, or local building regulations) is essential.
• Previous experience with tender processes, bid preparation, and value engineering in fire fighting or related building services fields is highly advantageous.
