Job Summary

Responsible for compiling data from all areas of the business to create standard routings and bills of material necessary to produce accurate quotes and work orders. Act as the primary point of contact between customers and the company. Prepare estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work. Interface directly with prospective and current customers from the initial request for quote through delivery of product to ensure high customer satisfaction. Effectively handle business issues by recommending and implementing solutions independently and with the support of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be reliable, cooperative, with high attention to detail, and work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret bills of materials and routings, analyze data to determine material and labor requirements and calculate cost.
  • Accept or reject potential jobs based on fit with the company’s capabilities and work load, set pricing within the parameters defined by the company.
  • Review processes to determine which machine to use internally or whether it would be more cost effective to outsource.
  • Manages and properly stores all customer supplied files.
  • Process sales orders and check for discrepancies.
  • Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates, any changes and adjustments, and resolve issues by responding promptly to customer’s needs.
  • Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, changes, complaints and comments, and actions taken.
  • Develops and demonstrates successful growth with existing accounts.
  • Communicates customer needs and requests to other departments, working with them to meet the customer’s needs. This includes making sure customer specific notes are added to the appropriate routings on the job.
  • Organizes and manages information in cost estimating database software and formal process to support cost estimating to ensure historical data is utilized.
  • Analyzes completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine the reason for any discrepancies.
  • Monitors work assignments and communicates any concerns with supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Associates degree in business-related field, or equivalent experience.
  • JobBoss experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
