Job Summary

The Senior Print Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for printing and design projects. With a minimum of 5 years of industry experience, this role plays a key part in pricing strategy, cost control, and profitability. The Senior Print Estimator collaborates closely with sales, design, production, and suppliers to ensure all estimates are precise, competitive, and aligned with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Review client briefs, artwork files, and technical specifications
• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for offset, digital, large format, packaging, and specialty print projects
• Calculate costs for paper, ink, substrates, finishing, binding, labor, machine time, and outsourced services
• Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors
• Develop pricing strategies to maintain profitability and competitiveness
• Ensure quotations are submitted accurately and within deadlines
• Maintain and update cost databases, material pricing, and production rates
• Analyze variances between estimated and actual costs to improve forecasting accuracy
• Provide technical guidance to sales and production teams regarding cost-effective solutions
• Support management with budgeting and cost analysis reports

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cost estimating within a printing and design company
• Strong knowledge of offset, digital, and large-format printing processes
• In-depth understanding of paper stocks, finishing techniques, binding, die-cutting, lamination, and packaging
• Proficiency in estimating software and advanced Excel skills
• Ability to interpret artwork files and production specifications
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
