Key Responsibilities:
- Review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation to understand the scope and requirements of Architectural/ Interior Fit-out projects.
- Quantify and take off materials required for Architectural/ Interior Fit-out projects, considering specifications, finishes, and quality standards.
- Source and request quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, equipment, and services.
- Analyze and compare supplier/subcontractor quotations to select the most cost-effective options.
- Calculate labor costs based on project requirements, manpower needs, and productivity rates.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including material quantities, labor hours, equipment usage, subcontractor costs, and any other relevant expenses.
- Collaborate with the project team, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
- Provide value engineering suggestions to optimize costs without compromising quality and functionality.
- Maintain a database of historical cost data, including materials, labor rates, and subcontractor pricing, for reference in future estimates.
- Continuously monitor and track project costs and update estimates as necessary during the bidding and negotiation stages.
Experience & Skills:
Education: Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Architectural/Interior Fit-out Estimator.
- GCC experience is mandatory. Strong experience in cost estimation, tendering and bidding process.
Technical Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of architectural and fit out construction materials, techniques, and finishes.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel), AutoCAD, etc.
Other Skills:
- Able to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented, follow work instructions, organized, with the ability to handle multiple ongoing projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills to accurately quantify materials and calculate costs.
- Knowledge of local construction regulations and codes is preferred.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills to interact with suppliers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
