Estimator / Project Coordinator

BOQ + estimation

  • Prepare BOQs from drawings and site notes (civil, joinery, finishes, MEP allowances, and loose furniture if applicable).
  • Float enquiries to subcontractors and vendors, chase responses, and keep comparisons current.
  • Build cost summaries and detailed pricing, including clarifications, exclusions, assumptions, and alternates.
  • Prepare client quotations in a clean, professional format with clear scope descriptions.
  • Support value engineering and option comparisons (cost vs lead time vs quality).
  • Maintain and update the pricing library (rates, supplier contacts, lead times, typical specs).

Coordination + scheduling

  • Coordinate with subcontractors on pricing, material lead times, mobilisation dates, and dependencies.
  • Prepare project timelines (baseline and updated revisions) and support weekly look-ahead planning with the PM.
  • Maintain trackers: submittals, material approvals, long-lead items, shop drawings, RFIs, and open items.

Reporting + admin control

  • Prepare weekly status reports: progress, blockers, action list, next steps, owner, and due date.
  • Prepare meeting minutes and run a follow-up log (you chase and close items).
  • Keep records organised (email trails, quotations, revisions, approvals) using the shared folder structure.
  • Provide basic commercial support as instructed: variation log support, LPO comparison summaries, and budget vs actual tracking support.

D) What you must bring (requirements)

Must-have

  • 2 years experience in UAE fit-out estimation and/or project coordination (commercial office projects preferred).
  • Can read drawings and extract quantities without constant supervision.
  • Strong Excel skills (BOQ templates, comparison sheets, cost summaries).

  • Comfortable handling multiple revisions and tight deadlines with accurate outputs.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting fit-out procurement and lead-time planning.
  • Working knowledge of Dubai building requirements / permit coordination (helpful but not mandatory).
  • Tools exposure: MS Project (or similar), AutoCAD viewing, PDF take-off tools (PlanSwift / Bluebeam / CostX or similar).

E) Working style (how you operate)

  • You take ownership. You don’t wait for reminders.
  • You work fast but keep accuracy and traceability (revision control, email trails, clear assumptions).
  • You communicate clearly: what’s pending, who owns it, what’s blocking it, and the next action.
  • You keep files and trackers clean so anyone can pick up the job without confusion.
